Sebagai agenda rutin tahunan, KKGO/MKKS Kecamatan Pupuan Kabupaten Tabanan kembali menggelar Pekan Olahraga Pelajar (PORJAR) tingkat SD dan SMP tahun 2025 dengan tema “Anak Sehat, Olahraga Kuat, Masa Depan Cerahâ€. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Lapangan Umum Pupuan dan SMP Negeri 1 Pupuan, dengan pembukaan yang dilakukan oleh Bupati Tabanan, yang dalam hal ini diwakili oleh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Tabanan, I Gusti Putu Ngurah Darma Utama. Hadir pula dalam acara tersebut Camat Pupuan, perwakilan KONI Tabanan, Kapolsek dan Danramil Pupuan, Koordinator Olahraga KONI Kecamatan Pupuan, Igornas, tokoh masyarakat adat/dinas, kepala sekolah, serta guru-guru se-Kecamatan Pupuan.
Pekan olahraga yang berlangsung selama empat hari, dari 22 hingga 25 Maret 2025, ini diikuti oleh total 409 atlet, yang terdiri dari 236 atlet tingkat SD dan 173 atlet tingkat SMP. Mereka berlaga dalam sejumlah cabang olahraga, yaitu Atletik, Catur, Bulutangkis, Sepak Takraw, Bola Voli, Sepak Bola, serta olahraga tradisional. Selain itu, terdapat pula satu cabang eksebisi, yaitu Pickleball, yang dilaksanakan di GOR Desa Padangan.
Dalam sambutan tertulis Bupati Tabanan, yang dibacakan oleh Kadisdik Tabanan, beliau berharap agar pelaksanaan PORJAR Kecamatan Pupuan ini dapat menjadi ajang pembinaan, pendidikan, serta pencarian bibit-bibit atlet pemula yang kelak dapat dibina lebih lanjut untuk menjadi atlet berprestasi di tingkat kabupaten, provinsi, bahkan nasional. “Pembinaan olahraga merupakan salah satu program pemerintah untuk mendorong masyarakat yang sehat, bugar, dan berprestasi. Hal ini sejalan dengan visi Kabupaten Tabanan, Nangun Sat Kertih Loka Bali, menuju pembangunan semesta berencana, dengan Tabanan Era Baru yang Aman, Unggul, dan Madani (AUM),†tegasnya.
Sambutan dan motivasi juga disampaikan oleh tokoh asal Pupuan, Gede Purnawan, yang juga merupakan anggota DPRD Tabanan dari Fraksi PDIP.
Acara pembukaan PORJAR berlangsung meriah dengan peragaan defile masing-masing kontingen, pembacaan janji wasit dan atlet, sambutan-sambutan, pelepasan burung merpati, serta senam Anak Indonesia Hebat.
